ZNKR Iaido and Jodo seminar April 2025

A yearly tradition is taking root! With great pleasure, Akiyama Budokai in Vissenbjerg invites you to the 2nd Danish seminar in Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei Jodo and Iaido.

In addition, it is with great pride and gratitude that we announce that five very skilfull budoka have offered to come to teach and attend shinsa! We welcome Jesper Waldestål, Caroline Lindholm, Alexander Prahl, Ziemowit Domanski, and Johan Rönndahl..

All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced: we are here to practice! To ensure a consistent and high level of iaido in Denmark, we also introduce an "instructor track" for those at a sufficient level to grade shinsa.

Practical information:

• Time: 5-6 April 2025
  The first practice begins Saturday at 10, and the last one ends at 15 on Sunday. It is possible to arrive on Friday 4th.
  • Grade tests Sunday: it is possible to test for new grades (see below).
• Place: the school in Vissenbejrg. Address: Vissenbjerg Skole, Søndersøvej 14, 5492 Vissenbjerg, Denmark. We will be in the Multisal.
• Sleeping quarters:
  • In the hall (free). Bring what you need or get in touch for assistance.
  • At the inn Vissenbjerg Storkro 100 m. across the parking lot. (NOTE: there are not many rooms free.)
  • Write if you would like to stay with one of us locals - we can probably find room for 5-8 people.
• Meals: the price includes lunch both days and dinner Saturday. Bring what you need for breakfast and to drink. (There is a good bakery and two local super markets nearby.)
• Price incl. three meals. You will receive payment information when you sign up for the seminar below; payment must be made by 1 April.
  • DKK 850 for jodo/iaido
  • DKK 1400 for the instructor class

Grade tests

It is possible to be graded up to 3rd dan iaido and up to 1st kyu in jodo and we hope that many will take advanage of this opportunity. If you wish to be graded you must sign up on the website of the Danish Kendo Federation:
